Re: Learning Smart Preflight with Pitstop Server by using Job Ticket

You don't need Enfocus Connect. If you have PitStop Server already, you just need an XML that supplies data about each PDF or job. That normally comes from something like a web2print or an MIS. This needs to generate an XML with the same name as the PDF so PitStop Server knows which XML to map with ...

Re: Preflight report, error + fix

The thing to consider is that Fixes happen before Checks. So as you say by the time the Check happens the issue is fixed. The only way to do what you want is to have two passes of the software, firstly a check, and then a second pass for the fixes. The only downside of this is that you have two pref...

Re: Help me fix/extend bleed in Pitstop

Don't confuse importing and editing. As far as editing a PDF in Illustrator goes, and I quote: On behalf of Adobe ... Adobe Illustrator is not, repeat is not, repeat yet again is not a general purpose PDF editor!!!!! (To be honest, I do understand why some people think to the contrary. Some very mis...

Re: Help me fix/extend bleed in Pitstop

Firstly, never, ever, edit a PDF in illustrator. It's not a PDF Editor. Adobe themselves don't recommend this themselves, you will run into all sorts of problems. Please try the Add Bleed Action List, Generate Bleed to 3mm if None, and Correctly Set all Page Boxes You can find it in the standard Act...

Re: dot in XML file name

I can't think of a way to do this in PitStop Server itself.
You would need to do it upfront, or upgrade to PitStop2Switch to enable you to have more control over the XML and the content needed for the variable.

Re: Convert Dark Object or Text to K100%

So if it's from Photoshop is it an image?
If so you need to use the color curves to adjust the color.

If you can post the file it would diagnose the solution.

Re: Grommets

Firstly in the Action List interface, open the Action List by double clicking or selecting edit in the little cog wheel on the right of the interface. Then go to the second item 'Add copied graphic', and the 'Graphics Panel'. You should see an image of the existing Grommet. The way you add a new ima...

Re: Is there a tool to measure the color mix

In PitStop. If you select a vector shape or a font you can see the color breakdown of the object in the Inspector.
You also have the eyedropper tool which you can use on an individual object or on a position on the page to see the ink coverage of multiple objects that may overprint/knockout or blend.

Not seen any reported issues of Switch/PitStop Server issues with the upgrade.

You can take it from me that part was extensively tested after the previous issues.

Re: PitStop 2019 wierd behaviour

Hi Lasse
This is similar to other things we've talked about in the webinars.
The fact Action Lists work in one pass.
I've added some 'Split Action List' Actions.
I'll reply to the email you sent and attach them.
Nice to see the Action List Debugger being put to work, makes things a lot easier.

Re: Different Colour Values

Are our support team looking at this, or do you need some help? If so can you send me the Action List and the sample file please? In PitStop Server you can configure the color management globally, per hotfolder or even within the Action List. We can ensure they are the same in both applications, and...
