Re: PDF to TIF [solved]

Thank you for clarifying, Magnus.
Very solid and sound reasons, especially number 4!

Re: PDF to TIF [solved]

Magnus
Maybe a daft question and since I'm still learning and for future reference is there a reason why opening in Adobe Photoshop in RGB mode and saving as a tiff - or even opening in Acrobat Pro - is not an option? Is there some other factor in play?
Sean.

Re: Compare file sizes

Hi Freddy What I'm trying to get Switch to do is currently done by an RBA in Prinergy using variables. My objective is to check that the trim size received matches what we think we're going to get earlier than is currently being done and when a job is already inside the system. You're quite right to...

Compare file sizes

Hi to all. I'm looking for an easier way to compare the trim size in an XML file to its PDF counterpart. I have something that works but it is so convoluted there must be a better/simpler way. Since we often get PDF files that come in at a different page size that what was quoted - 55*85 instead of ...

Re: MULTIPLE XML TAGS IN ONE EMAIL

Freddy Thank you for the imput. I've asked that we purchase the scripting module as that would appear to be the best solution. Reading through a number of older posts I can see that I'm not the first to have difficulty for this particular need with the standard tools available. Some people have mana...

MULTIPLE XML TAGS IN ONE EMAIL

Hello to all. Hope everyone is doing well. At the end of a flow, I have a folder with a number of XML files inside. Each xml file is structured in the same way and simply has a different file name. All I am after is sending ONE email with a resumé of the number of xml files and a short description f...

Re: XML magic / repeating sections

Hello
I have to say that Variable Xpath Repeater is a fantastic app. Bought it last year and it has really helped me automate digital press jobs where I have multiple components in the received XML files.

Re: CHECKPOINT METADATA

Hi Jan, Hi Padawan Well it's now working. FWIW, I was using the link between a folder and, in this case, "send by FTP" and I wasn't seeing the "Check" metadata in order to hold jobs or not. By selecting the "send by FTP" icon and building the path I can now see the &quo...

Re: CHECKPOINT METADATA

Hi Jan Sur Thanks to you too, for jumping in. I agree and that is what I have done to bring into the check point the original fields. I then added new ones at the check point level such as FTP details if the file is too big to send by email. I would like to be able to see the FTP information later i...

Re: CHECKPOINT METADATA

Padawan Still the same thing unfortunately. Picture 1317 is the submit point dataset name Submit. Picture 1318 is the check point dataset name Submit Picture 1319 is two steps after the check point and I can only see the fields from the original submit point and not what was added or changed at the ...

Re: CHECKPOINT METADATA

Hi Padawan
Thankyou for taking the time to reply.
Different : the dataset name is CHECK at the control point and SUBMIT at the submit point. Building a path after the control point I can only see SUBMIT.
Best

CHECKPOINT METADATA

Hi to all. I have a flow with a Switch Client submit point where operators add in some metadata to be picked up later in the same flow. For example, a “yes/no list: is there 3d varnish” on this job. The job eventually gets to a Switch Client checkpoint where more metadata fields have been added and ...

Re: Issues with Samba shares [QNAP NAS]

Hi Neosa I have the same problem here with all our NetGear Ready Nas': the problem has not been resolved checking safe move to "no". Our older IOMEGA Nas' do not have the same problem nor does our Infrant Nas. All Windows servers of course are fine. Our quick fix is to scan the destination...
