Re: Maintain layers in Illustrator.
As you mentioned, layers are different in Acrobat and Illustrator. Another important aspect is that Illustrator is not PDF editor. What you should be doing is keeping master file in Illustrator with layers, doing edits and than saving final version of PDF with option to save layers. That way you wil...

Re: How to remove Form?
Unfortunately no resolution that I know of.
I am not sure if the latest version does anything with it, I am still using Pitstop 2020.

I don't know about Tilia but as far as I am aware, if you are using Illustrator, you have to log in to your user, otherwise illustrator will not launch and work.

Re: Execute Command for 7-Zip
First swap %1 and %2 as 7zip needs output path first, than input so it is %2 %1
Also if you have any spaces in your path input or output, it is safer to put quotation marks around it so final commands look like:
a -tzip "%2" "%1"
I hope this helps.

Re: Incoming JDF same filename
Did you try reducing time to scan incoming folder, maybe to one second? I think default is like 10 seconds. This might not help much, my experience has been even with one second it takes 2-3 seconds before file gets renamed. I am not sure what mechanism Switch uses to detect changes in file system, ...

What you want is Pitstop Server, as far as I am aware you can not convert .eal to .bat directly.

Re: Using Switch Developer Mode
Just to make sure we are on the same page, you should have two separate instances of Switch on two separate servers. One server has production Switch Second server has Developer Switch. By all means, these two have nothing with each other. Whatever you develop and test on Developer server is tied on...

Re: Best way to delete files in a folder older then X?
Yes, Switch can do many complex tasks but for some reason some simple tasks are not present. Sometimes you have to get creative to accomplish simple things. e.g. delete files older than ... in some folder. Another one that boggles my mind is working with txt files is not existent. For example if you...

Re: How to calculate Ratio for multiple numbers in JS?
Thanks Jan, I will take a look at the app. Thomas, you are correct that it is 2500, I just pulled numbers out of blue, maybe not best example but in such case you would print 600 sheets to get 3000 for C and D, while having waste on a and b items. Proper imposition software calculates ratios much be...

Re: How to calculate Ratio for multiple numbers in JS?
Thanks Thomas for reply. Yes, to make it easier they are same size, however it is the ratio that is the problem. Even with same size, there are multiple different items with different quantities so e.g.: Item a is 1000 item b is 2000 item c is 3000 item d is 3000 so on 16up sheet I need to impose 2u...

How to calculate Ratio for multiple numbers in JS?
I have a need to gang impose multiple items on the sheet but no license for Sheet Optimizer.
Javascript can do it from my googling but all examples are for 2 numbers, I might have 5 or more items.
Has anyone done something similar?
Thanks

Re: Merge 9 single page PDFs
Sorry, I am not sure I understand.
You don't have to tell anything to Merge PDF, it merges all PDF's into Single PDF from same folder by default.
There are no other options other than if you want to keep page labels or not.
With Assemble Job you control what and how you want to merge.

Re: Merge 9 single page PDFs
You are, but since there will be thousands of PDF's you first have to assemble them into folder based on some logic, before running Merge PDF.
