I just upgraded to version 2017 and there it worked like You suggested - deleting the even or uneven pages works!

There is no "remove pages" available to add in the action list - only "remove selection" and if I use that; only the content of the pages gets deleted, not the page itself.

I have tried everything but it does not work or it works very slow: My problem is that I sometimes have to remove every even or uneven page from a pdf with more then 400 pages. To select this in miniature page-pane in the pdf itself and then remove it with "Delete" lets me scroll very slow...
