Crop line art and gradients
Is anyone else having an issue with the Crop Line Art action not being able to crop gradients? My action crops the page to trim size but leaves the gradient alone. When I change the object to a solid tint it will crop it fine.

Re: Scripting with InDesign - Remove Pasteboard & Re-Link Files
If I understand this correctly, your InDesign configurator is failing because the pasteboard items links are missing. This will be the case if the your client supplied an InDesign package, as when the package is collected it ignores items on the pasteboard. Try changing your InDesign Configurator to...

I am using Execute Command Friend to create a javascript file that picks-up several Switch variable, one of which is a notes section. Things are working great except when the notes variable contains quotes and returns. Is there a way for Execute Command Friend to escape these characters for when the...

Action to step and repeat object
I would like to create a ruler with tic/hash marks that aligns with the left edge and bottom edge of a graphic based on the scale at which it is placed. Is there an action that will step and repeat an object a variable number of times or would I be better off scripting this scaled ruler? Thanks, Sea...

Combine two XML files into one
Can anyone recommend a way to merge/combine two XML files into one? I have an InDesign XML report and a PitStop Preflight XML report that I want to combine. I have processed each XML to extract the info I need but I am struggling with how to combine into one report. Currently I have the two reports ...

.bat variables in Switch
Is there a way to pull variables from a .bat file into Switch. I have a .bat file that executes a vbs script and was wondering if vbs variables could be pulled into switch through the batch file?

Re: Unable to add filename to InDesign file
I am almost positive it has something to do with the XML import. I create a new document and the filename get added no problem, but when I add the XML structure back to the document it fails again.

Unable to add filename to InDesign file
I have a flow which opens and InDesign file and imports XML with Javascript, which works fine. However, after the import I have code to add a text frame that inserts the filename, this does not work. I am using the same block of code that I used from two other flows that add the filename without a p...

Re: Crop Line Art - Question
Hello, We, also, have a need for the 'Crop Line Art' action to retain a stroke as a stroke. I had an idea about cropping dielines that cut to shape across multiple pages. We need the dielines to overlap by .5" so I was thinking that I could select the dieline and crop it to bleed then close the...

Re: Flow for Preflighting InDesign files
Thanks Malcom,
Your suggestion seems more conventional. I had no idea you could repackage InDesign files from Switch. I will give it a spin and see what happens.

Flow for Preflighting InDesign files
I am sure several of you have ran into this issue and have come up with a solution. To preflight an InDesign file a PDF needs to be exported in order for Pitstop to preflight it. The problem is if an image or font is missing it is not reflected on the PDF or preflight (unless I am missing something)...

Re: Flow to merge a template with a page from a multi page pdf
This is great, thanks everyone. When I read that ungroup created a job for each pdf I though it created a job folder. This explains a lot. Thanks for the clarification.
