Save embedded preflight profile from Certified PDF
I've received a Certified PDF. It names the profile that was used to certify it. I can recertify it, by checking the PDF against the profile in the certificate again. Can I save the profile from the certificate as a preflight profile (or even as text)? Or somehow view the settings and actions? I kno...

page size unit threshold for preflight
I have a few PDFs where one or a couple of pages are off on their page size and trim size by a fraction of a point — from 0.001" to 0.01pt. I check them with preflight in Pitstop, "Different Page Sizes Found." Only it doesn't find any differences. I know how to change the units in the...

Re: Find image items, but only areas with non-white content
I've been rethinking this, and I think I've got an idea of how to find images that have "live" (non-white) content outside the margins, while ignoring KO white sections of the image in that area. I'm thinking some combination of "Check ink coverage (total page check)" but limitin...

Re: Find image items, but only areas with non-white content
Thanks, Loic, I was working down the same lines as this. My issue, however, is not solid KO white objects, but images that have image content, but also wide white space that is not cropped. The live image content (e.g. an illustration) falls within the margins. But the uncropped white background are...

Can Pitstop check PDF Producer?
While nearly all of my PDFs were produced via InDesign, I have quite a number that were not. I'd like to check for those. Is there a way to differentiate ones created with, say, Distiller, Creo Normalizer, or any other PDF writer such as Aspoze? I'm not seeing a way to read that part of the metadata...

Find image items, but only areas with non-white content
I have an Action and Preflight that find images (and other items) that exceed page boundaries. The issue is, for images, it returns positive results when the entire image bounds cross that boundary, even when that image content is knockout white. What I'm looking for is a flag that will return negat...

Re: variable safe type margin depending on page count
I finally got it to work. It may have been my own unfamiliarity with the program, but I couldn't find anything that references it in the documentation. (And all of the forum posts I've read suggest it's not possible.) I had been doing what you suggested: select page ranges with an Action. I couldn't...

Re: variable safe type margin depending on page count
I apologize if there are hard rules about what gets posted in which forum. I'm developing this preflight locally on the desktop, and some of the people who will run it will also be using it on the desktop. We also want to batch-process files received, and will also be putting it on Pitstop Server. A...

Re: variable safe type margin depending on page count
can one stack NOT arguments? Does NOT work on more than one line? For example: Selection 1 -- the first criterion to select for Selection 2 -- the next criterion NOT -- selecting everything that is not in the first 2 criteria NOT -- again, unselecting all that and re-selecting everything from the fi...

Re: variable safe type margin depending on page count
selects pages that are in the range 1-700 AND that are in the range 701-. Of course no such page exists yeah, this is what I'd surmised after a time. Thanks for confirming. Is there a way to make a selection, and then add to that selection? I've experimented with making a selection, saving it, and ...

variable safe type margin depending on page count
Hello, I'm trying to create a preflight that will check the safe type margins, but the Inner margin offset changes depending on the total page count. I've tried creating Restrictions depending on the page range — for example "Select page range 501-" — to limit which margin checks are used ...
