Re: Time problem on handover - No document opened
If an Indesign file and a JSON file arrive in a folder preceding the Indesign app, they will be processed by the app as 2 individual files and certainly for the JSON that will not work well. Or is it a package (which is a folder) with the JSON file inside? Is the non-UXP script used in the Open or C...

Re: Problem with Switch Helper
It is a new computer so the most likely explanation is that Switch Helper has not been installed yet.

Re: Retrieving metadata from SOAP Wrapper
Without seeing it the most likely explanation I can think of is that the XPath is not correct because you did not include the namespace prefix. Please share the SOAP XML and the XPath to extract the URL to the PDF so I can judge. If you prefer the approach suggested by Magnus, then know that you can...

Re: It the PreflightReportItem ActionID unique?
I can confirm that, but it comes with a warning: an ActionID is not guaranteed not to change in a future version. However, they rarely change so in practice it is OK to use them.

Re: Compose XML for HTTP POST using file in hot folder
I must say, teetomterrific, that the tone of some of your posts is not the style of this forum. This is a place where we meet to help each other to the best of our abilities, not to sling mud. I do not quite understand your rant against the unique id. It is something Switch does when creating a job ...

Re: Compose XML for HTTP POST using file in hot folder
Switch always add a unique prefix to a job. If you need the name without the prefix there is job.getName(true/false) where the boolean value is if you want the job name with or without the extension.

Re: Compose XML for HTTP POST using file in hot folder
One improvement to Robert's answer to number 5: you can avoid the use of a script expression by using v20 of HTTP request and choosing "POST a body - Input job".

Re: catch (err) -> err.message
`${error}` is equivalent to error.toString() That is indeed a possible approach, but for the sake of completeness: you do not get the same result as with: (error as Error).message Coercing an Error object to a string gives you a longer string including some stack information and also the message, b...

Re: XMP Inject not updating pdf:Keywords
I could reproduce this and logged it as a bug. As a workaround you can two update rules in "Update XMP", the first one sets pdf:Keywords to an empty value and the second one sets the value.

Re: Rush job not working
There is another aspect: the flow starts with Receive from Switch. The Send to Switch and Receive from Switch apps are still written in legacy code and therefore they cannot transfer the Rush setting. I have never tried using rush jobs with the Subflow and/or Flow Links apps, but these are written i...

Re: 2nd option for unzipping
Check the debug messages. There you will see the actual command that is executed. That will usually give you an indication of what went wrong. If I were to make a bet: you did not place $1 in the shell script between double quotes. On Mac there is also an unzip command (it is in /usr/bin). You could...

Re: Any ideas?
On Mac you can use "Execute command" at the beginning of the flow to "touch" the file. That updates the timestamp of the file. On Windows you can apparently do it with a variant of the copy command: copy /b filename.ext +,,

Re: Disregarding Added Effects in Resolution Checks
The background image that covers the whole page has a resolution of 147ppi. That one can be excluded based on the fact that it covers the complete page. There is also the resolution of the backgrounds of the two portraits. These have a resolution of 115ppi. They are a combination of two images on to...

Re: 2nd option for unzipping
Good job! "Execute command" is indeed quite powerful. Go to "All courses" in the Learn section on our website and search for "execute command". You will find a recording of a workshop session from August 2022 that talks about this element in somewhat more detail. Side r...

Re: 2nd option for unzipping
I would think that with some slight modifications you can run the shell script with "Execute command". Are you willing to share the shell script?RunDontStop wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:25 am ...
When the zip hits a folder the Mac OS launches an app that runs a shell script. The shell script does the following:
