Re: Quite Imposing/Hot and Set trim box by marks

Okay, so that was weird. In getting a file ready to upload, I decided to set the marks back to "default" in the Quite Imposing Step and Repeat wizard. Then, finished the imposition. Ran the action for "set box by trim marks" and this time, it worked. Since I couldn't use the mark...

Quite Imposing/Hot and Set trim box by marks

I have a flow I have been trying to set up and have run into an issue. I can't get the action "Use trim marks to set page box" to recognize the trim marks added to an imposition using Quite Imposing v5. I have the preference for the marks set to "all separations". Pitstop Inspect...

HTTP Request tool for JMF submission??

Good morning! So, I'm looking for some additional assistance with a flow I've been working on for a customer. Also, it's been a great learning experience for me. The batch file is working great (thanks again Freddie!) and the files I combined have been read correctly by the printer. Now, however, I ...

Re: Concatenate two files to create new combined file

Freddie, you are the MAN! Thanks so much! I figured it needed to see the folder, but it didn't even occur to me to put a change directory command in the batch file. That is very useful info and I will definitely remember it for the future. The flow is now working correctly and I will go to work to a...

Re: Concatenate two files to create new combined file

Thanks for the scripting info. Looks like trying a script is moving past my basic Javascript knowledge level. So, I tried to use a batch file (tested in a cmd window and it works), but once I try to have Switch run the batch, it tries to process each file separately. I have had problems figuring out...

Concatenate two files to create new combined file

So, I have a need to create a PDF that contains a JDF file. The new file is for printing on a JDF compatible production printer, not for viewing in any PDF viewer. Merging the two files together is easy using the Windows "copy" command, but since I need to do this within a flow, I was wond...

Re: Problem with Execute Command

In the previous testing, I was using paths with no spaces. I learned a long time ago using folder names with spaces is just asking for trouble. So, instead of a space, I use a dash (-). Of course, the Switch installation has no such rule, so there were spaces in that path. Originally, this morning, ...

Re: Problem with Execute Command

So, after some further testing, it looks like CSV Splitter does not like the really long path required to read from and send to files inside a flow. I tested the app at the command line and tried to get a result using files inside the flow's backing folders and received the same error in the Command...

Re: Problem with Execute Command

Yes, I tested the program at the command line and it worked as expected. I changed the arguments as you listed and made sure that the execution mode was concurrent. Failed, but the logs show an interesting error. The program was trying to access the Switch folder in AppData and was denied. I tried c...

Problem with Execute Command

I'm trying to get Execute Command to run the *.exe of CSV Splitter and can't seem to find the right arguments. I always have problems with this applet and there is no good documentation for it. I've read the Help and it doesn't really go into specifics on *how* you can get the arguments to work, use...

Re: How to validate addresses in CSV or XML

Validate as a place with a physical location or as a USPS-deliverable address? To be USPS-valid, there must be an approved mail receptacle at the location. USPS validation requires a mail sorting configurator, two of which are available in Switch.

Re: USPS mail processing

I know for a fact that the DesignMerge configurator in combination with sorted file (no matter where the CSV comes from) can be used to create VDP jobs from templates. We had a recurring account I wanted to automate and had Meadows give me a demo using the actual files from the account. Worked like ...

Re: Syntax Error

Thanks to posters here and some dedicated Internet research on my own, I'm getting better at the simple scripting. But, this is one area that Enfocus could really help out new users. The flow element and apps from the store will only get you so far, if you need to move into more advanced flows. I wo...
