Re: Using 2 different Switches for illustrator
Are you sure you set the folder constraints on the outgoing connections? Put the connections after Local and Remote on hold and place 5 input jobs in the input folder. The folders should each get 1 job and there should be 3 jobs waiting before "Hold job". Release one of the two connection...

Re: Using 2 different Switches for illustrator
When you add 2 outgoing connections to "Hold job" Switch will send 1 job here, 1 job there, 1 job here, etc. In this way the number of jobs will be equally split over the outgoing connections. That is not always the best choice because not all jobs take equally long. To make it a bit more...

Re: Using 2 different Switches for illustrator
It depends how you transfer the jobs to the other Switch and what it is that is not running. If you drop the job in a local folder that is a remote folder for the other Switch, the job will be stuck in that folder. As it is stuck "Hold job" will route all the other jobs to the other local...

Using 2 different Switches for illustrator
Using only one Illustrator is sometimes not enough. Since i have 2 Switches, is it possible to use the other one for Illustrator also? Is there a way to send files to the other illustrator only when the first one is busy? Or should i just start adding a counter to the metadata and sending odd number...

Re: Using multiple checkpoints via email in flows
Using multiple Checkpoint via mail elements using the same account can work because each element only takes the mails that are relevant for itself. It is possible that a problem occurs when both elements are accessing the mail box at the same time. When they try again the next time it will probably...

Re: Printing PDFs with Illustrator + Adobe PDF printer
I can only guess that you must have added that folder to the $outfiles array before you push the C: drive folder. The fact that the push works proves that $outfiles exists as an array, but without seeing the code it is impossible to say what is in there. But you have not answered my question why it...

Re: Printing PDFs with Illustrator + Adobe PDF printer
Why do you want to print to PDF, rather than export? Consider that printing causes the output to pass via Postscript, so flattening can take place. Printing to a folder that is not known by the Switch element is of course going to generate the error message that the expected output result is not fo...

IJT could not be opened: '00021.ijt'
I made a duplicate flow to my second Switch installment and i am running a part of it at the same time as the first installment. On some occasions i get the following error IJT could not be opened: '00021.ijt' IJT could not be opened: '0001Z.ijt' etc, for about 20 different warnings of the same type...

Printing PDFs with Illustrator + Adobe PDF printer
I am running into some issues with my flow. Although in console some of them are just warnings, i am wondering if there is a better way to do what i am doing. 1. Illustrator file with metadata is inserted into Illustrator element 2. A script makes the PDFs using Adobe PDF printer( multiple from one ...

Re: Ai file loses color profile after processing.
The empty script worked for me, but it is certainly more logical to add the line: $outfiles = [$infile]; //or if you already have other paths on the $outfiles array: $outfiles.push($infile); to tell Switch that the input file is actually (one of) the output file(s). This also worked for me, thanks!

Flow design efficiency
I hope this goes under Flows. I'll try my best to explain my question. When designing flows, does using multiple of the same element change the speed of at which Switch processes flows? Example: I have 4 different job assemblers. I am using 2 recycle bins for them to send errors to be deleted. ( 2re...
