Re: Inject Job - dealing with failures
Thank you. I will look into this and see what I come up with.

Extract text from webpage using url as input
I am using XML Pickup. The field is a url. What I want is to go to this url and extract the text from the webpage. I thought maybe this was possible using Execute Command. Any suggestions?

Inject Job - dealing with failures
I have several flows using Inject Job. Oftentimes the job is not there to inject. Which is fine, my goal is to inject if it is there. Either condition is normal and expected - but I have no way of knowing before hand if the job to inject is there, or not. The problem is when it isn't there, it goes ...

Clarify Select All
I am trying to understand something very simple – forgive my lack of knowledge. I make action lists fairly often. To select certain items, I usually just use Select All, then follow that up with the selection that I want. With the understanding that this selects everything, then out of that makes th...

InDesign 2022
I have what I think is the latest InDesign configurator for Switch Spring 2021. As far as I can tell this does not support the newest version of InDesign. How can I find out if a newer version of the configurator has been released? I am using the Help menu, Download configurators.. and it appears mi...

Hide url in browser address bar
I am sure there is a way to do this and forgive me if it is obvious in the user manual. We have customers who want to forward our proofs to their customers and hide our identity. I can see how to create different brands on the PDF Review Module server, and I can also change the sender email address ...

Add a field to an XML file
I think this is possible but not sure how to set up. I am using XML pickup. Metadata is asset.
What I want to do is add an extra field (current date and time) and export a brand new XML, identical to the first but with this current data and time field added. How can this be done?

Re: Hide outgoing connection in PDF Review
You are absolutely right. Timeout not even visible to end user. I didn't attempt to add for fear of it showing up as a button. Thanks.

Hide outgoing connection in PDF Review
I have been using PDF Review for a short time with some success, but there is an issue. Some customers are not approving or rejecting in the module. Instead they email us. So the proof of course sits there. I put a time limit on it. Now it moves to problem jobs after 10 days. I see where I can send ...

Compare creation dates of two files
I have two files in a flow. Switch can determine the creation dates for both files.
I want to know if the creation dates are more than 30 days apart.
Is there a way to do this?

Re: Job Spec Sheet attached to PDF Review Mail Send
Thank you. I was a able to get XML into HTML format using XSLT Transform, but not to PDF. I know there is a way but I ran out of time. Now I have Switch sending out emails with a path for the spec sheet. They write out the spec PDFs, put them in this correct place so it is associated with the correct...

Submit Hierarchy performance issues
I have a few Switch flows using Submit Hierarchy to monitor a job server. They all point to the same parent directory but target different subdirectories. I am wondering if this affects performance, it seems to take quite a long time for jobs to process. I was thinking about reconfiguring but not su...

Job Spec Sheet attached to PDF Review Mail Send
I have set up PDF Review module flows and they are working well. But I have requests from our project managers handling job production. With our previous MIS, job spec sheets (PDFs) were sent to the customer along with the proof. When the proof was manually attached in the old system the spec sheet ...

Re: Switch copy to server fails because hidden file or directory already exists
I have not tried that! Maybe that will fix the problem! Thank you. I have another question, somewhat related. I have a workflow that uses Submit Hierarchy. The folder is on the NAS server. In this folder we have LOTS of jobs. Switch is targeting very specific subfolders in each of these jobs as hot ...
