Switch Remote Designer

I'm trying to find out what this is and how to use it, but I can't find any information regarding it. In the Switch 12 Reference Guide it says "The Users pane allows you to manage the access rights of users accessing the Switch Server from another computer, i.e. from another computer than the o...

Re: Switch 13, Adobe CC 2015 and SmartStream for CC 2015

Problem solved. Hi 2 things need to be done 1. Open InDesign and the Designer preferences window manually once. This creates the preferences file from which the configurator reads the paper sizes. 2. Additionally, there’s a bug in version 110 of the Imposition and Ganging configurators. If everythin...

Switch 13, Adobe CC 2015 and SmartStream for CC 2015

I just updated my developer server to Switch 13, installed Adobe CC 2015 and SmartStream for 2015. When I started one of my old flows I got errors from SmartStream Designer Imposition and HP DFE JDF Control. The DFE errors were easy to get rid of, but when I try to set the Paper Size in SmartStream ...

Re: Variable data flow

Thanks Gabriel. You're a life saver! I read on one of the pages I came across at HP that they would do some maintenance work on their site. Perhaps that's the reason the site isn't working properly. I'll give it a try monday when I'm back at work. I managed to get to the correct page. Lo and behold,...

Re: Variable data flow

Does anyone have a link to the MyHP page?
I've spent 30 minutes on HP's site trying to find it...

Re: Variable data flow

Thanks Gabriel.
That clears some of the confusion with regards to how to use the VDP.

Now I just need to figure out how to do the rest of the stuff...

Re: Variable data flow

Well Gabriel, I share your sentiment with regards to HP's website. There's a bigger chance to find the proverbial needle in a haystack than actually finding anything you need from them. I spent about two hours looking for a link to the latest version of SmartStream without finding it... Just a...

Variable data flow

I've been tasked to create a flow for variable data jobs, so I downloaded the HP SmartStream Designer - end to end VPD and imposition flow from the Crossroads page to see if I can figure out how to set such a flow up. However there are a few things I don't understand... Is there any informatio...

Re: Moving folders with Switch

Thanks Sander.

I've been really busy at work the last couple of weeks and haven't had time to check the forum in a while.
Thanks for posting the screenshot. I'll look in to it when I have time to do so and will post back later.

Re: Moving folders with Switch

Hi Gabriel.

Yes, FTP Receive will not work either unless I tell it to go X folders deep and then it will only fetch the files, not the folders.
I have tried to connect to the FTP-server via afp and then simple use a folder to point to the folder the customer uploads to, but that doesn't work either.

Moving folders with Switch

I have a customer who uploads folders containing two pdf files, two text files and an xml file to our ftp-server. I need to move the entire folder from the ftp-server to our file-server and delete the folder from the ftp-server. I then need to make a copy of the folder and place it in an archive for...

Re: Unable to move asset file to asset location

OK, I can do that.
But why shouldn't I put it in the JDF-folder?

I have barely seen the Indigo presses, so my knowledge about how to work with them is virtually non-existant...

Re: Unable to move asset file to asset location

I remember this error. I think it has to do with the fact that the DFE needs the asset location when it later reads the JDF but Switch needs it to so it will place the document there. So both Switch and the DFE need access to the asset location from the same network path. The easiest way to do this...

Unable to move asset file to asset location

I'm working on a flow for our business card production and everything works just fine until I use the HP Digital Front End JDF Control (ver 1.5) to create a JDF file for the press. When the file reach the HP DFE JDF Control I get an error saying "Unable to move asset file to asset location"...
