Duplicate & Collate Page of PDF

Post by krockway »

I have an 8page business card product where page 1 is the contact information, pages 2-8 are images.
I need to automate the duplication of page 1 and have it collate in front of each of the back images to create a 14 page PDF.

Currently the pdf is supplied as:
P1. Contact
P2. Back image 1
P3. Back image 2
P4. Back image 3
P5. Back image 4
P6. Back image 5
P7. Back image 6
P8. Back image 7

The output pdf needs to be:
P1. Contact
P2. Back image 1
P3. Contact
P4. Back image 2
P5. Contact
P6. Back image 3
P7. Contact
P8. Back image 4
P9. Contact
P10. Back image 5
P11. Contact
P12. Back image 6
P13. Contact
P14. Back image 7

Any advice would be a great help.

You could split the first page, have that go into a repository folder, then send all of the other pages into an Inject to pick up a copy of the first page from the repo. Then you merge those and you're off to the races. To make sure you're repo doesn't over flow over time, put a hold coming out of that for like 7 days, right into the trash can. That's what I would do.

Using merge PDF with a asset folder for another case, works great. Only thing I dislike is static cleanup, I prefer using a Inject to delete the asset to keep things clean.

When your job is done, so after your assemble or something, use a Inject Job to trigger the delete of your asset;
