I am using acrobat to create a jpeg from a pdf. Each time a pdf arrives, Acrobat is opened, jpeg is made and acrobat is closed. Why is acrobat closed each time? Can it be made to remain open like illustrator for example?

I have submitted a feature request for this.

However, using Acrobat to save a file as a JPEG is not the most efficient approach. If you have PitStop Server, then you have an element that creates images of PDF's. Otherwise, there is also this app: https://www.enfocus.com/en/appstore/pro ... thumbnails. The name "Make Thumbnails" is a bit misleading because whether an image is a thumbnail or not depends on the size and the resolution and the app allows you to define that.
