Problems on editing files stopped in checkpoints

Hi guys!
Sometimes when I edit some file stopped in a checkpoint and I press 'process' the processed job doesn't have the changes.

Does anyone have this problem before?

Could your detail what changes you made ? Metadata ? Other ?

Hi Loic!
Sorry, i didn't give the details.

I'm using switch+pdftoolbox to make preflight of my pdf files.
When preflight has some error the job is stopped in a checkpoint to someone make the corrections.
These corrections are normally resize file, apply bleed, center trimbox.
Sometimes these changes are made in pdftoolbox and the file in switch directory is replaced by corrected file, I don't know if replace file may cause some problem.

Weird. How do you edit the files ? Are you opening it from the Switch client window or directly into your system explorer ?
Could it be possible that you have multiple files with different unique prefix. So you would modifying XX_file.pdf instead of YY_file.pdf which is the one furtherly processed by the checkpoint ?

When some job is stopped in the checkpoint I click in 'edit' to open it in Acrobat.
I use actions of Enfocus PitStop to correct the file, then I save the file(ctrl+s), I close it and click in process.

I contacted the enfocus support.
They suggested that it can be caused by some software locking the file in client machine, like a antivirus or a backup software.
I'll investigate it.

We have the same problems while editing the files in our SwitchClients.

Hi alanoliveira,

Last week we were able to solve this problem. In our workflow we now can edit & save the files without any problem.
I also got the answer from Enfocus that it could be the Antivirus program. With their instructions I excluded the "temp" folder on the harddrive from scanning by the Antivirus.

Instructions from Enfocus Support:

Win:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Temp\

Mac:
- Open Terminal
- Execute the following command
echo $TMPDIR
- The path you get is the location where SwitchClient stores the files
---------

After testing the flows, the files were saved and processed in the good way.

Hopefully it will work for you also. Maybe you need other folders to exclude.
