Exporting metadata

Post by LasseThid »

I have a flow to which I submit files thru a Submit point.
At the end of the flow I would like to export the metadata set Submit from the pdf in order to be able to import it in case I need to alter an imposition created by Phoenix, since that metadata is not present in the Phoenix job. Using Export metadata I can export the set, but how do I save it in order to be able to import it in another pdf and preferably keeping the same name, i.e. Submit, for the metadata.

Even though it would be interesting to know if you can re-import a metadata set that you have exported, I found a much better way of dealing with the issue I have...

As Gabriel once told me.... Abuse Private Data...

Using Pack / Unpack you can save / restore all metadata for a job.
Note that you can unpack a packed-job only once...

I did that Jan, but for some reason the exported metadata set wasn't formatted like an xml'file needs to be, so even though the XML pickup worked I was unable to see the metadata. On the other hand it was 10.30 pm when I did the test...
