Drag file from desktop into folder icon issue

Post by berniemok »

After upgraded from Switch 2019 Spring into Fall version in Windows 10, I found that for auto-managed folder, I cannot drag the file from the desktop into the input folder.

I need to assign a specific folder, then I can copy the file into the input folder.

So I would like to see how to fix this.

Thank you in advance.

Works for me on Mac.

Might be some permission issue on Windows.

Are you running switch as a Windows service? If so, then it runs under the System user by default. Your automanaged folders will then be in a location only accessible for the system user.

When running as a Windows service, it is best to configure the service to run as a normal user to avoid these things.

(running as a different user might give you a different set of flows and settings, so take a backup before switching users)

Yes, running as Windows Service cause this issue. (and also fixed viewing 2 different sets of flows as mentioned).

Now changed back into "Manual" in Services and the auto-managed folder allows dragging files from desktop again.

Thanks all and Merry X'mas. :)
