Apago will be holding a one day hands-on seminar on Javascript and advanced concepts with XML, SQL during Print 17 in Chicago. We had great feedback from last 4 seminars and will be incorporating more hands-on exercises. Bring your list of questions and requirements and we will work through them.

Date: Tuesday, Sept 12, 2017
9am to 4pm
Cost $1,375 for one, $2,050 for two
Remote students are welcome to signup. We will have video and audio connectivity to the classroom.

No Javascript experience is required. This class will cover the basics of the JavaScript language and then move on to Switch specific topics including metadata, XML and SQL. Computers will be provided loaded with Switch and Pitstop Server.

Attendees will take home a USB flash drive full of example flows, scripts and Javascript snippets. Worth the admission price alone!

Course outline:

Introduction to JavaScript
variables and data types
operators
conditionals (if/else, switch/case)
loops (while, do/while, for)
functions
Using JavaScript in Switch
Javascript expressions
Using SwitchScripter
jobArrived and timerFired functions
logging and debugging tips
Using metadata, XML and SQL database

Breakout session
Your opportunity to create your own Switch scripts, ask questions & get help from experts and fellow attendees.

The breakout session will be a 3 hour open format with Q&A. I will also be available to help you with your Switch flows and scripts. This has been the most popular part of the class.

Is there any plan to record this and offer something like this as an online course or webinar?

I'm in. Request sent to my boss. Please let us know the selected day as soon as possible. I won't be at Print 17 for the entire four days and need to make sure my travel doesn't impact class attendance.

For those of us signed up and that will be on-site, where is the classroom in relation to the show floor? Will there be signs with directions on the day of class?

Hey Dwight,

How did this go?

Any news on whether you will offer this as an online course? Or any intention of coming to the UK?
