Hi All,

We're having a unique error when trying to impose PDF's through Switch. I have attached a logo below. Essentially, InDesign/Smartstream seem to be throwing an error when trying to run jobs through Switch. Below are the app versions for reference.

Application: Enfocus Switch
Version: 20 Build 1142033 (64bit)

Application: Adobe InDesign 2020
Version: 15.1.1 x64

Application: HP Smartstream Designer
Version: 15.0.6

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i ran into the exactly same error in a similar setup.

Is there any working solution to fix this?

We are also getting the same error. Smartstream Designer is unusable via the Switch configurator with the latest version of 15.0.6 Smartstream Designer installed. I did notice in the release notes of 15.0.6 that this version was supposed to 'fix an issue with Switch'. Maybe that issue still exists? We are using Windows PC Switch and Indesign.

Had a similar error but managed a work-around that HP are looking at with the configurator (they did supply the latest but still failed) so see if this works:
1. Ensure Indesign is NOT running.
2. Start Switch flow/activate a flow by dropping in a file that needs processing.
3. Switch should force Indesign to start and then process the file OK (previously I had to make sure Indesign was running before putting something into a flow).
4. File should create fine.

Basically if Indesign is running before you run your file through Switch it fails. Switch MUST start Indesign via the HP configurator. Once that's done it will work fine whilst it's running.

Worked for me. Give it a go.

Where do you download Smartstream 15.0.6? I can only find 15.0.5 for Windows on the HP download page.

I just got Smartstream v 15.0.8 from our HP vendor. It solved our Smartstream/Switch problem.
