Edit text PitStop Vs Acrobat

Post by markone »

Hi All,
I noticed on several files I am unable to edit text with the PitStop tool "Edit Text Line" (due to only subset of font embedded), but I am still able to edit using the Acrobat Pro tool "Edit Document Text". No big thing but I am just interested to understand why it might be?
Thanks

Acrobat is a lot more lenient in changing fonts. If a font is not available, Acrobat will often substitute another (with or without warning). Whereas Acrobat is meant for general use (not just in the printing industry), PitStop is specifically geared towards prepress and the graphics industry, where using a different font is often unacceptable. Therefore PitStop will refuse to edit the text to protect you from having clashing fonts.
