How to check if file needs bleeds?

Post by RytisT »

Hi.

I'm not entirely sure how to get "Check if object is close to the page edge" action to work.

I just want to check if file needs bleeds, meaning if there is objects closer than 3mm to trim box edge and are they extending outwards from trim box enough to be recognized as bleed. These are my settings: http://prntscr.com/og6y73
But I get an error on every file that has background, meaning that the check for recognizing if the object is far enough outwards from trim box to be recognized as bleed, doesn't work?

Can someone share how to get this to work correctly? Thanks.

Hi
Your selection in the action will pick up anything that is up to 3mm inside the trim box and 3mm outside of it.
Try adjusting the first numbers to 0.5 mm

Well, I want it to select objects that are not further than 3mm from trim box edge, and that does not extend 3mm into bleed.

Then I think you need to look at the operator function and to create 2 conditions that the object needs to satisfy.
Select objects inside 3 mm of trim
and
Select objects that don't extend 3 mm outside of trim.
