Hi everyone.
I need your help to solve this issue.

I always get artwork from our customer where, if I open by Acrobat, the content appears in the center of the mediabox. All margins are correct and a the same dimension. The problem is when i open it by illustrator. the content "moves" at the downl-left corner and all margins space appear at the top and right side of it. I tried to reset margins using pistop pro action, setting all page boxes with 5mm of white space all around artwork, but when i reopen it by illustrator i still find it at down-left?

Do you know what cause this issue and how to solve it? I have not find anything about it on this forum and generally on the web.

thank you

Lecture first. Illustrator is not a PDF editor, and opening a PDF in Illustrator (that is not created in Illustrator) can run you into all sorts of problems.
Even Adobe admit it's a bad idea.

This might be an interesting read for you.

Having said all of that, you will probably still do it. So I suspect the issue is the crop box
Acrobat crops the page based on the Crop Box, it seems Illustrator uses probably the Media Box.

Delete the crop box and then see what Acrobat shows you.

If you have PitStop that's an easy fix, and you can even preview this using the Page Box tool.

If deleting the crop box doesn't help, I've solved similar issues in the past by running the "move media box to 0.0" action on the PDF.

thank you all.

I know that opening a pdf by illustrator is not a good thing, it s an old story, but not all things you need to do to edit an artwork are available in pitstop pro at the moment and not all operators or customer has a pitstop pro on their computer so...that s not the point.

Anyway, yeah, as i wrote at first post I've set all boxes at the same dimension using a pistop action. I've even used the action "Normalize page boxes" to keep correct dimensions of the boxes, but it did not work. as abailescollins said I tried to remove crop box and other boxes but nothing changed.

As Padawan adviced I selected all and moved the media box 0.0, then applied the resizing actions.... it worked!! thank you again
