Acrobat DC Update - PitStop Pro Issue

Post by msierra »

Today we experienced an auto update for Adobe Acrobat DC and now PitStop Pro is not working as expected. Particularly when selecting an object. The selection frame is not visible to the user so it makes it difficult to see what is selected. Wondering if anyone else has encountered the same issue?

It seems the problem is only related to macOS.

If you have the option to restore the Acrobat folder to the previously release with Time Machine or other backup, then it works again.

Thank you for confirming. Unfortunately Time Machine was not deployed on the Workstations with issue. We may have saved 1 by turning off auto update from Acrobat preferences. I will know today. As well thanks to the heads up to Enfocus being aware of the issue.

Dear PitStop Customer

This week, Adobe released a new update for Adobe Acrobat.
· Acrobat 21.007.20091 for subscribers of the Document Cloud (Continuous Track)
· Acrobat 20.004.30015 for users with a perpetual license of Acrobat 2020 (Classic Track)

Unfortunately, the Mac version of this update introduced a problem for PitStop Pro: when you select an object(s) in PitStop Pro, the selected objects and anchor points are not displayed.
There is no workaround for this issue, so we would like to advise PitStop users on a Mac not to update Acrobat at this time. Windows users are not affected.

We have reported the issue to Adobe, and are in discussion with their engineers on how to resolve the issue.
Please be assured that we will resolve this issue as soon as possible. When there is a fix, we will let you know via email.

The following knowledgebase article is available on the topic.
https://enfocus-community.force.com/cus ... uage=en_US

In general, we recommend turning off automatic updates for Acrobat, to prevent inconvenient consequences in PitStop in the future.

You can simply copy the Acrobat application from another Mac to replace the recently updated version. This will solve the issue. Remember to to turn off the auto update preferences after doing this.

A colleague of mine was able to get in touch with support and after some troubleshooting she got Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI.dmg and AcrobatDCUpd2100120155.dmg from Adobe. With these files we could uninstall Adobe Acrobat from our macs and then reinstall the last working version. Of course we had to deactivate and re-install PitStop, but it was definately worth the trouble...
