Copy hyperlinks
Copy hyperlinks
I'm trying to make an action, that will copy a hyperlink form one page and paste on to another page. Apparently the action "Select external hyperlink annotation" doesn't select anything? Does anyone have experience with this?

Re: Copy hyperlinks
Does not seem possible. I just tried.
And I can remember I have used the move page content, where all the visual elements moved but not the hyperlinks.
So it seems the actions are not programmed to change annotations the same way as "regular" objects.

That's my experience as well. I'm just wondering what the "Select external hyperlink annotations" does if it doesn't select external hyperlink annotations

Re: Copy hyperlinks
If you select them, you can remove the selection. But apparently not copy it.
Re: Copy hyperlinks
Hmm, I see, but that doesn't solve my current challenge.
I have a spread that contains hyperlinks on the right side of the spread. I need to split the spread in single pages, but when I do that the hyperlinks are still on the empty right side of page one.

Re: Copy hyperlinks
I think you need to contact Enfocus support and see what they say.
Because I think Pitstop does not handle annotations very well in this regard.

Re: Copy hyperlinks
Note that Acrobat automatically creates links from text that starts with something like "http://". There is never a real hyperlink in the file, Acrobat just pretends it's there.
I'm not saying that's the case for you, but it could be.

Re: Copy hyperlinks
I was trying to work around this issue by inserting a blank before each page, then pasting the content forward. Then, altering page boxes to get to the single page trim.
What we are trying to avoid is the behavior where the hyperlink is associated with page one of a two-page spread. When breaking the spread, the hyperlink is still attached to page one. So, doing a "copy forward" maneuver could be the answer. This needs further experimenting.

Somewhat familiar with Enfocus products.
Re: Copy hyperlinks
I ended up solving this with a combination of PitStop Server and Switch. Copies of the spread are handled with two different action. One that set the page boxes to the left half and one that set them to the right half. Afterwards the left and the right pages are assembled and merged back to on single PDF.
A workaround, but it works

Re: Copy hyperlinks
Thanks, Erik for the update. I was curious how this would work. Or workaround.
