Hi, I'm trying to wrap my head around creating a preflight that doesn't utilize the trimbox, but rather a specific spotcolored line. I'm guessing it can be done with restrictions, but is it possible to check for bleed relative to that line? In preflight setup i can only enter distance relative to trimbox/bleedbox.
Any input will be appreciated.

Re: preflighting within a dieline
Ok first part. Yes it's possible to check only in the Dieline.
That's been in since Drupa, May 2016.
If you look at the standard Action Lists.
Standard > Restricting Action Lists > Preflight objects only within a contour (cutter guide/dieline)
That's the one you want, but you need to modify it to reflect the separation name of the dieline.
It's just the stroke you need, you can turn the fill off.
then just add that as a restriction to the checks you want.
Bleeds not supported for irregular shapes, but the pieces are there.
For instance you could use offset path to make a larger cutter to show the bleed distance.
But there is no check to identify objects that don't extend beyond the cutter guide.
Hope that helps?

Re: preflighting within a dieline
Does anyone know if there is a way to define the color of the contour cut and how to do it? Basically I am trying to add bleed to the artwork outside the contour cut.
Thanks everyone.
Thanks everyone.

The add Bleed on works on rectagular shapes at the moment. It won't add bleed to a cut contour
