Is it possible to make CMYK color a spot color?

Post by us592 »

I am trying to create a CutContur layer, color that is added automatically. Is it possible to create a spot color out of a CM build and make the dieline a spot color? Does that make sense?

If all objects that you need to spot color have the same color it should be fairly straight forward.

Select all
Select color (set to Stroke and use the Grab tool to pick your color)
Remap Color (click Add and set Remap to Color and use the Grab tool to select the color you want to remap then under To: you select Color and User Swatch, then click the color picker and select the spot color you want to convert it to)

I've attached an action list that will convert objects with a stoke color of 100% Black to a spot color called CUT that you can play around with.
