Target and remove specific pattern

Post by PPNINJA » Wed Jun 22, 2022 2:47 am

Hello all,

we've been playing the concept of adding notes to packaging plans so we can visually see in the setup file for glue areas. We've created a 2 patterns in illustrator using 1 spot colour (Artios-glue-to), glue inside and glue outside. We can then select an area on the design and fill with the according pattern.
We are stumped when trying to target the glue pattern as the action will remove any pattern within the art. The workaround was to expand the the 'glue outside/inside' pattern and then run the action to remove.
Can an action be made to target a specific pattern and remove without effecting other patterns within the artwork?

Have you experimented with putting the glue pattern on its own layer? Then it's possible to select the object by layer.
