Different Colour Values

Post by elanders »

I am receiving pdfs with an image of a colour and logos, placed on a background of the same colour and with a unused block of colour on top of that. Unfortunately i an getting different screen values after rendering because of the image colour.
Can i change the background colour of an image in any way?
Any other ideas?
File attached because i know its hard to understand.

Fingers crossed

From what I can see, they are different colors, RGB at that.
My advice is to convert to CMYK and make them identical values.
Some rips by default are configured to treat images and vector with different profiles, you can try to change that as well on your rip to make sure same profile is used for both.

I will try that but I'm not willing to change my rip settings, I don't want to create from new as this needs to be an automated fix.

How many do you need to fix and are they all like this?
Same issue and the same file construction?

Well this seems to work on this file.
It's a bit of drastic fix, but it looks ok on this file. You'd have to make sure it works on the others.
The color is all vector now, so you can modify it.
Just be aware that there are two color boxes now, the background one, and the one in the logo.
Didn't check overprint or anything like that, but of course it could be done.
Check also the show through on the black logo, I drew a white box behind it to get the JCB text in White.
Make sure that works.
I think if you open the Action List you can follow the steps to clean it up.

That Action is from PitStop 2019 I'm afraid.
Perhaps download a trial version of PitStop Pro or PitStop Server 2019 to test?

I added an action to change everything to CMYK, then select colour patch values and change to colour backgroud values. This worked great on pitstop server but when adhered to Pitstop server in switch i got different results. I have checked my colour management and everything looks fine, support upgraded to a newer version of 2018 but unfortunately the problem is still happening

Are our support team looking at this, or do you need some help?
If so can you send me the Action List and the sample file please?
In PitStop Server you can configure the color management globally, per hotfolder or even within the Action List.
We can ensure they are the same in both applications, and in Switch. That has options in the Configurator as well.
