Smart-Preflight: how to combine some variable sets to one set?

for Smart-Preflights and Smart-Actionlists I'm working with different variable sets.

To avoid switching between the variable sets: how can I combine two variable sets to one set?

Or is it possible to copy a variable together with his definition and all his rules from one set into another set? (All the names of my variables are unique)

It's not something that you can do within PitStop, at least not at the moment.
but I think we can help you out.
The variable sets are XML based, so development are willing to combine them for you as a 'special'

Yes, I have already tried to merge the XML code of both sets. But the user interface that opens from the action list is then destroyed: it shows wrong contents to wrong field names.
