Action Reorder Pages: How are pages arranged for a saddle-stitched booklet?

Post by yosimo »

Hello,

I love the PitStop Action Reorder Pages. But I can't create the correct notation syntax to arrange pages for a saddle stitched booklet.
If I place 4 pages on a printed sheet, the order is: 4,1,2,3 (in notation form: r1,1,2,r2), so for a 64 page booklet it is: 64,1,2,63 (same notation form).
For the complete sequence I should get:
64,1,2,63,62,3,4,61,60,5,6,59,58,7,8,57,56,9,10,55,54,11,12,53,52,13,14,51,50,15,16,49,48,17,18,47,46,19,20,45,44,21,22,43,42,23,24,41,40,25,26,39,38,27,28,37,36,29,30,35,34,31,32,33.
How can this be accomplished with notation without naming each page?

Similar problem if I want to create a thread-stitched booklet, for example, with 60 pages with 5 layers/ligatures of 12 pages each (with also 4 pages on the printed sheet).
The page order is:
12,1,2,11,10,3,4,9,8,5,6,7,
24,13,14,23,22,15,16,21,20,17,18,19,
36,25,26,35,34,27,28,33,32,29,30,31,
48,37,38,47,46,39,40,45,44,41,42,43,
60,49,50,59,58,51,52,57,56,53,54,55,
Is there any way to automate this in PitStop to get the new page order?

Thanks a lot.

With kind regards
yosimo

It's going to be difficult in PitStop as you will need to define each page order.
But maybe the new imposition Action in PitStop 2021 will be a better solution for you.
