Saving original file and rename job number file

Hey everyone,
Just started getting my hands dirty with switch.
I submit my jobs as folders with the pdf files and xml file within the folder. XML pickup is done and I have most of what I'd like to achieve cleanly.
Whats the best way to save out the original file that was submitted to the flow and also the processed PDF file which is renamed to the job number?
My current train of thought is to split the flow into two folders with no filtering so the file gets duplicated. Save out the original file name to the hierarchy. Process the other file and rename it then submit it to the hierarchy then archive the hierarchy.
Is this the cleanest way of achieving this?
