SwitchScriptExecutor.exe

Does each Script element has their own SwitchScriptExecutor.exe ? After testing some scripts i am left with multiple exes still running after stopping the flow. If my script activates for each incoming file separately, does this mean each time a new exe is activated? If this is the case, should i review my scripting flows?
Example: I have 4 different flows working, but only one of them has a scripting element. From task manager i see 23 Script Executors running.
I am aware that they are killed after a certain time. Is there a way to stop inactive ones manually?
