We do a lot of packaging jobs that contain dielines, perfs, and score lines. Our customers provide pdfs that contain these overprinting spot color elements for reference. Is there an action that can convert all colors to process but bypass or preserve these certain spots colors?

You can make an Action List that does that quite easily.
Do you have a list of Spot Color names that you want to preserve?

Give this a try. There's a list of spot colors that are excluded from conversion.
You can add more as you wish.
I didn't have time to test it, so please test thoroughly.

Hello. Okay not totally perfect but close! I introduced a grayscale image (black channel only) into the mix but the action converts it to cmyk. Can there be something in this action to ignore grayscale images?

Best regards!
