Remove object with white background or background with 0% opacity

Post by schmitzdp »

Hello,

I would like to select objects with white background or background with 0% opacity to remove them from my file.

Is this possible? Thank you for your help.

You can use the "Remove Invisible Data" action list.
It will do even more that what you are describing.
You can modify it if needed.

Unfortunately, this does not work.
I even tested it with the following action lists:
  • Remove irrelevant objects
  • Remove irrelevant vector objects

Isn't there another solution?
Thank you.

Do you have a sample file that we can test with?

Hello,

yes, here is my file in which I have two rectangles that I want to remove: one with a white background and another with a black and transparent background.

So I just need to understand what needs removing.
You can see the file in Wireframe mode here.
You have a circle and a rectangle of 100% CMYK.

You have a form (that thing that shows with a X in it)

And around the outside of the Media Box you have a path.

Which elements do you want to remove?

Thank you for your help and patience. I have indicated the 2 items to be deleted in your message.

Ok, so this?

Top what it looks like, bottom wireframe.
I did this manually in PitStop Pro.
Do you need to automate it, if so are the objects in exactly the same positions in each file?

Yes, the result is this one.
Yes, I want to automate it with a list of actions.

The elements will not be in the same positions.

That's not going to be straightforward. I'll need some more test files to make sure we don't delete other content.

If you have any other sample files, could you email them to me?
