How to save parent folder name as variable?

Post by zurek »

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to Switch and will appreciate your help here:)

I'm looking for a way to save original file's directory as variable (name of the folder the IN file comes from). Is there a possibility to do this?

You have to install the SwitchHelper application on the client and define in the submit point that it requires the use of SwitchHelper: https://www.enfocus.com/en/support/down ... tch-helper

When you do that the variable [Job.Origin] will have the path to the original location of the file. With Before, After and Search you should then be able to extract the part that you want.

Important note: you must browse to the file from the submit point! Do NOT use drag&drop! If you use drag&drop the browser will not give access to the path of the file that was dropped and [Job.Origin] will still be empty even if you took care to use SwitchHelper.

Thanks for the help Freddy. I didn't know that SwitchHelper allows that.

Shame that drag&drop functionallity isn't available here, I'll have to look for some walk around solution then.
