Individual time-out settings for every flow

Post by pfischer »

Hi everybody,

is it possible to assign an individual time-out to a flow?
Or can a maximum processing time only be assigned for the entire server via the preferences?

If it is not possible, this would be a feature request for upcoming updates :-).

Thank you very much and best regards,

It is only possible in the Preferences. Noted as a feature request. It is not that we do not have any imagination, but it would be good if you could describe the exact use case.

The use case is two flows where the average processing time is very different.
In flow 1: PDF generation from InDesign
Due to the amount of data, the process can take longer than half an hour.
In flow 2: Image conversion in Photoshop:
A larger number of images are converted in Photoshop (by scripts or action lists). The processing time is usually less than one minute.

Originally we had set the time out in the preferences to 15 minutes. However, this caused large documents in Flow 1 to be aborted during PDF creation. If the value is increased to 1 hour, the process runs.
Unfortunately, however, errors occasionally occur in Flow 2 (image conversion). There it then always takes 1 hour until the job is aborted by Switch. It would be desirable if we could set a lower value - perhaps 5 minutes - for flow 2 (image conversion).

Is the scenario comprehensible?

+1 on this feature. It would be even better if you could configure a timeout optionally on a flow element level
