Controlling maximum roll length

Post by plutinolabs »

Is it possible to change the maximum length of roll media that Phoenix nests on via switch?
We have certain situations where we want control of the length of the printed roll to aid finishing/cutting operations.

You can not define the maximum length of roll media that Phoenix nests on via switch,
but you can select the rolls Phoenix can use via Rolls - Select many from library.

Just wanted to chime in since we do a lot with Phoenix and we have been doing something similar for years now where we wanted a specific max length of each nest for cutting reasons. Doing this allowed us to completely automate some of our large print runs that have a large mix of graphics.

We duplicated the 'Thing' (press) and set the max hight to the max sheet size we wanted in our case 150". This resulted in layouts never exceeding the length we defined regardless of the roll length allowing for a great workflow.

In the configurator, I just selected the new Thing from the library ( or single-lie text with variables if you have is one from your MIS ) and then 'Select many from library' of the materials that needed the length restriction.
