Ruler guides not showing while dragging in page

Post by drcpub »

Just wondering if anything new has had this issue. Has been affecting me since 2021 version. Using a Mac with PS VER 2024. While dragging ruler guides on the page they do not appear until releasing the mouse button. Anyone know of a fix? More annoying than anything but thought I’d ask

Yup still an issue and by the way when I turn on rulers it partial covers up the media. Really annoying for detailed work. Always have to zoom out and still one side or the other is partially covered with the rulers. Acrobat v2024.002.21005 Pitstop v24.07

I think the link Freddy provided brings a solution:

Not PitStop related.

So I followed the link provide in Freddy's reply. Killed all Adobe processes, saved the original plist preference. Deleted the plist preference. Started acrobat and still same thing happened. I tried it again, this time restarting before running acrobat. Also did it in safe mode. I made a new user, installed acrobat from CC, opened a pdf and same thing, no ruller while dragging onto page. I played with the dpi setting in Acrobat Display setting preference, nothing.
Just additional information. I work in a company with 4 others and we are all seated near one another, same identical computers, all with subscriptions. Everyone has the same problem.
Very frustrating

A quick test would be to uninstall PitStop Pro and see if ever the problem is found or not.
But given the dobe post, I think the best thing to do is to get in touch with Adobe support.

Every month a new issue, more on an Intel Mac than a PC. We are not currently running Silicon Macs yet. Acrobat in general always had a buggy interface. IT dept reinstalled Acrobat on 3 Macs to no avail. Ruler cover up still there as well as the missing guides until released issue. On the PC I can see the guides as well as the rulers not covering up the work unlike on a Mac (Intel). Both Acrobat and Pitstop are at the latest versions. Even the (Preference) Page Display > Always show the document page size was buggy up until a recent update and it works but just isn't the same as previous version. The PC version works as intended. Another preference is the Units & Guides > Show rulers when opening documents produces no rulers. Always have to open them on every document on both Mac and PC. These seem to be Acrobat issues and not Pitstop issues and unfortunately not tested before the installation of Pitstop. And don't get me started on Acrobats interface and what seems like its not in the same class as the other Adobe product line.
