Resize pages to SRA3 - 460x320

Post by wbravenboer »

When using imposition and such, the media is often not the right size. Is it possible to resize the media to a particular size, with keeping the trim- and bleedbox intact? Especially handy for our print/zund jobs. At the moment we use QI, but that removes the trimbox.

When you say "media", do you mean the media box (as opposed to resizing actual page content)?
There is an action "Change media box", that should be what you need.
Note that per the PDF specification, the other page boxes can never go outside the media box.

That QI removes the trim box might be explained if we are talking about pages being imposed here. What is trimbox if you have several pages imposed?
Same for Bleed box, what is the bleedbox for several imposed pages?

Is it possible to resize the media to a particular size
Yes, given the restriction ben mentioned.

with keeping the trim- and bleedbox intact?
Might not be feasible if we are talking about imposed pages.

Feel free to re-stress what I may have missed.

All pages are imposed, and/or have a trim and bleedbox. It is the last step I want to resize the paper-format. Our printer needs the exact size for printing, mostly that is SRA3.
So nothing has to be re-scaled, only the mediabox(?) needs to be enlarged. Currently we mostly use QI with N-up, page-resize.

Hi

You can use the typical hack of adding a rectangle and set the mediabox on it.

In a nutshell:

- Select all
- Add object > Rectangle (Width/Height > SRA3 centered to trim)
- Select last added objects
- Change mediabox to selection
- Remove selection

That should help.

I must be doing something wrong, I tried it (in the Dutch version), but nothing changes.
