100% Black from Canva Not Overprinting

Post by paul.trivilino »

I have a PDF generated from Canva :roll: in which none of the 100% black is overprinting. I've tried using Change Overprint under Global Changes. I tried changing the Overprint Mode from Standard (OPM 0) to Illustrator (OPM 1). I've even tried to force each 100% black element to overprint. Nothing is working. What other ways are there to get black to overprint that I have not already tried?

Thanks,
Paul

I ended up opening the PDF in Illustrator and it showed that all black content were set to overprint. I saved as a new PDF and viewed in PitStop Pro. All of the black is overprinting in the new PDF. So how do I do this within PitStop Pro without opening and resaving the PDF in Illustrator?

Hi,

Have you tried:

- select color => fill C0 M0 Y0 K100
- Change overprint => overprint

?

Is you black in the file k100 or Gray 100, or RGB 000 or impure black, or rich black?
Another option is to use:
- "Select Black and white objects"
- Change overprint => overprint
But that would put any object that looks black, including when not k100.

If PitStop doesn't change overprint, that's likely that your Black selection is not valid.
Feel free to share a file and your Action List here.
