Hi Everyone,
I just started learning how to use Switch a few weeks ago, so I’m still getting familiar with the basics of the Switch flow. I’m now trying to use the PitStop Server tool to pre-check my PDFs (we’re a book printing company), but I’m not sure how to get started with it.
It looks like I need to apply a Preflight profile, and I see a few options in my library (like CMYKv3 and CmykVeryHiRes_1v3). I’m not sure which one would be the right choice, or what the settings inside each profile actually mean. Also, do I still need to add a variable set after choosing a Preflight profile?
Thanks so much for any guidance!

Preflight profile and Pitstop server
Re: Preflight profile and Pitstop server
Regarding which would be the right choice of Preflight Profile and what the settings do it's probably worth going through the Learn section for PitStop to understand how Preflight Profiles and Action Lists work and what they do: https://www.enfocus.com/en/learn/pitstop
And again for Variable Sets they only need to be used if the Profile Profile or Action List you're using contains Variables.

You just need to select the Preflight profile that matches your company's printing standards:chuqisu wrote: ↑Fri Sep 05, 2025 10:36 am Hi Everyone,

CMYKv3: used for basic quality control, ensuring files are in CMYK and images are ≥300 dpi.
CmykVeryHiRes_1v3: more stringent, requiring very high image resolution (≥600 dpi), typically for photo books or special quality printing.
You can open the profile in Preflight Profile Editor to see the details of the checks (color, font, resolution). Variable sets are only needed if you want to change the check values for each job/client; if the requirements are always fixed, no additional settings are needed.
