I created an action, adding variable text to a file (filename, ordernumber, date), this works great.
However, sometimes we need a reprint of the same file, so the ordernumber changes.
Is there a way to do this with pitstop? So to remove the added text.
In QuiteImposing the 'add text' 'remembers' the text and can undo it.
Add and Remove variable text
Re: Add and Remove variable text
We do something similar, and my solution was to put the text on its own layer. The action list first looks for that layer, removes anything in it, then adds the new information and places it back in that layer.
Re: Add and Remove variable text
If your order number is unique, you may as well use the "Find and replace text" Action.
There is otherwise indeed many ways for "selecting" the object:
- put on layer as suggested
- select by region, select text segments AND
- select by attributes (color, font size…)
