Extract data from pdf from Esko ArtPro+

Post by JimmyHartington »

In Switch I receive files for label production from a customer which has Esko ArtPro+.

The set the printing method for some colors in the ArtPro and then saves and send the file to us.

But I can not find a way to extract this information. And I do not even know if is saved into the pdf.

I have tried with Pitstop, FastLane and Coherent PDF.

Has anybody tried to get this information out of a pdf?

Have you checked the XMP metadata of hte PDF file? Esko puts a lot of info there.

I have looked at the XMP metadata.
And it does not seem to be there.

I exported all metadata using ExifTool and could not find anything from ArtPro+. But the file seems to be generated from InDesign not ArtPro+?

I have been told the file has been opened in ArtPro.
Made some changes.
Set the Printing Method and then saved.

But maybe I should just get back to the customer and ask him to confirm it.

Thanks for looking at the file.

I found a few XML values that referred to Esko trim marks but nothing about the things you asked for.

PDF Toolbox have a tool for exploring the metadata inside the PDF.

The only thing I found from Esko or ArtPro was this crosshair, not trim marks as I said before.
