Remove a registration mark placed over text

Post by SBLESS »

Hi, is it possible to remove a 6mm circle/registration mark that has landed on text. I would like to remove it within the action that places it?
The reg mark was placed by pasting along a path then deleting the path. I can change the distribution parameter but I would have to do that on every different size file I am working with. I can delete manually using inspector, which again takes time. I also created a 2nd page that copies a cutter to it along with the reg marks. So the removal of the reg mark would have to be done before the creation of the 2nd page.

Hi,

I think that's manageable.

First select the texts
- Select text segments
- Select by region outside trim
- AND

Then select overlapping objects
- Select overlapping > replace selection by objects that overlap the current selection
- Select fill color: All (if registration) or 100K (whatever it's filled with)
- Select by size width 6mm
- Select by size height 6mm
- AND
- AND
- AND

Then remove selection

Hi Ioicaigon

That's perfect, thank you.

Why did it only work when the "AND" was added 3 times. (it didn't work with 1 "AND" added)

An 'and' combines only two selection criteria - namely, the two selections mentioned above. The second ‘and’ matches the third selection along with the other two, and the third 'and' includes the fourth selection. Thus, the object is filtered only if all four selections apply.

You could also arrange the order of the action lists as follows:

- Select overlapping > replace selection by objects that overlap the current selection
- Select fill color: All (if registration) or 100K (whatever it's filled with)
- AND (match the 1. and 2. selection)
- Select by size width 6mm
- AND (match the 3. selection together with the 1. and 2. selection)
- Select by size height 6mm
- AND (match the 4. selection together with the 1. and 2. and 3. selection)
