Metadata dropdown list in Switch Client: problem with "remember last value"

Hello,
I have created a submit point for Switch Client where the user can choose two mail addresses from a drop down lists. The values are defined as a list of 5 mail recipients.
1. the main recipient is mandatory (a standard mail address is set)
2. the CC adress is optional (the standard value is left empty)
When I set the option "Remember last value" to "Yes" it is not possible for the user to de-select in Switch Client the last remembered mail adress back to nothing/empty.
I think about inserting an empty line in my list but that doesn't work. A line with a blank space creates a seemingly empty line, but I don't know if that would work.
Are there any ideas how to solve the problem?
