Find and Replace Text Issue

Hello, I'm having issues with the new Find and Replace Text Action. If I save a document as a PDF in Illustrator that contains live text the Find and Replace Text feature does not work. However, if I create a PDF document within Adobe Acrobat the feature works perfectly. Any insight as to why this wouldn't be working in a PDF document created in Illustrator?
