What are you doing with Switch?

Hi everyone,

If I am posting this (more generalized) question in the wrong place, please forgive me as I'm new here to these forums.

I am new to Switch. I am currently using Switch to automate file processing and proofing in my digital department. I know Switch is capable of so much more and was wondering what sorts of workflows other users have built with their Switch installations?

Thank you so much,
hp

The sky is the limit.. :D

Start with small tasks that you do manually today and expand as you learn.

Here some examples what we are using Switch for:
  • Receiving web orders from various customer systems and convert and send them to our ERP-system (production files get imposed etc)
  • Archiving job folders from our server to Google Cloud Storage one week after printing is finished
  • Route files based on filenames and/or metadata
  • Dynamic preflighting based on job type and size
  • Remove background from images and create tracing cut files
  • Sort and impose files based on customer Excel-file
  • Our own File Send solution with encryption and password sent by SMS (Twilio)
  • Watch folders or FTP's and batch jobs on specific criterias (time of day/no of files/size)
  • ...and much more.
There is alot of interesting flow ideas and problem solving if you look around at this forum,
