Measure thin areas in compund paths/texts

Hi,
Can PitPreflight against thin areas in complex objects?
I am not talking about a stroke width nor the bounding box dimmensions (those ones are easy to check)
Take a look, that's what I mean:

Would it be either text or compound path, I need to be able to locate them.
BTW. How can I use measure tool with snapping?
