Submit Hierarchy - Excluding Folders

Hello Everyone!
I am having some problems understanding the Submit Hierarchy element. I have read the element documentation and watch some videos, but I am not understanding it.
The folder hierarchy I am working with is as follows.
/Volumes/ART_PREFLIGHT/HOT_FOLDERS/Art Department
The Art Department Folder contains six folders. (One for each artist)
Each artist then has a misc amount of sub folders.
/Volumes/ART_PREFLIGHT/HOT_FOLDERS/Art Department/Jeff/Small Format
I only want the flow to look at the Small Format subfolder in each Artist's folder.
I thought I just had to exclude the other subfolders, but I am not getting it to work.
I have included a screenshot for reference of the directory.
