Hi gang,
I have a form that is sized at 9.5x12.0 and has crop marks to 8.5x11". I need to reduce the form to 8.5x11 and eliminate all of the extra printer marks.
I tried adjust the page sizes (trim, crop, bleed, etc and the page is either chopped off at the top or the artwork is not centered. Sure I am a dim bulb. Is there a previous post that explains each step to do this reduction to 8.5x11 or an action list you can recommend.
My subject file is attached.

Is the Trimbox correct? If so using an action that takes the takes media box to equal trimbox would be straight forward, but I'm guessing that isn't the case.

So next would be to make a new action: Here is how I've done it, perhaps there is an eaiser way but this has worked for me.

New Action:
  • Select all
  • Change Mediabox - Select resize page to fit selection, to adjust the top, bottom, left and right to the negative value to make your mediabox 8.5x11, since it's not centered you'd have to figure those values out and enter them.
  • Select all
  • Change Trimbox - Set this to equal Media box
You'll end up with a with a 8.5x11 with Trim of 8.5x11.

Thank you. That seems to solve the off center issue I was having as well.

If that were the case, it would be easy to use an action that takes the takes media box to equal trimbox, but I'm assuming that's not the case. Making a new action would then be the following step: I've done it this way; maybe there's an easier way

Isn't the action "Use trim marks to set page boxes" what you need?
You can use "Select color bars" and "Select trim marks" afterwards to do some cleanup.
If you need something more agnostic, use a "select by region" > outside bleed box and remove selection.

Unless I am wrong.
