Job Jacket Summary on Business Card

We are using Pitstop and Quite hot imposing. I would to setup BCs so that the first card that prints for a job, is actually a mini job jacket. It would contain information such as job number, shipping address, maybe a QR code, etc. The options are unlimited for what to include.

I am not very familiar with Quite Hot Imposing and how to go about setting this up. Has anyone done something similar?

Hi there!

At Bluewest, we’ve developed a lightweight app ease the process of generating jackets or summary sheets for your print jobs : PDF form

How Does It Work?

It’s simple:
  • Design your PDF template. Make sure it includes form fields.
  • Fill it out using our PDF Form App — Inject the right metadata directly into the form.
Depending on your use case, you can generate:
  • A single jacket for the entire imposition, or
  • One jacket per stack of cards.
Jacket for the Entire Imposition
  • Complete your imposition.
  • Use an Inject Job to merge your filled-in template with the job.
  • Inject metadata into the form fields.
  • Assemble the imposition and the jacket together.
  • Merge all files into a final PDF.
Tip: This works best if your imposition already contains the correct number of duplicated copies (easy to automate beforehand)

Jacket for Each Stack of Cards
  • Create a template matching your product size, or use a generic one and resize it after filling.
  • Inject data using pdfForm.
  • Combine your imposition with the resized and filled-in jacket.
  • Impose and duplicate the layout (add one extra page for the jacket).
  • Use PitStop to remove the jacket layer from pages 2 and onward.
